Overview
Tenday is built to be private by default. There are no accounts and no sign-in, and we don't run a backend server that stores your habit data. Most of what follows is simply an explanation of how little of your information ever leaves your device.
This policy describes how the Tenday iOS app and this website handle information. Tenday is made by Mohammad Goudarzi.
Where your data lives
The habits you create — their names, icons, colors, streaks, and completion history — are stored locally on your device using SwiftData. If you have iCloud enabled, this data syncs across your own devices through your personal iCloud account.
This data never touches Tenday's own servers, because Tenday does not run a backend server for user data. We have no account database and no ability to access, view, or retrieve your habits. Your iCloud-synced data is handled by Apple under Apple's iCloud terms and privacy practices.
Apple Health (HealthKit)
Tenday only ever reads from Apple Health — it never writes anything back. Health data is never sold, never shared with third parties, and never sent to any Tenday server.
Reading Apple Health data is entirely optional. Only when you explicitly grant permission for a specific habit, Tenday reads the relevant metric through HealthKit to automatically complete that habit once its daily goal is met. The metrics Tenday can read are:
- Steps
- Exercise minutes
- Sleep
- Mindful minutes
- Stand hours
The daily progress values Tenday stores from these readings are kept locally and synced through your own iCloud account, exactly like your other habit data — they are never transmitted to a Tenday server. You can grant or revoke Health access at any time in the Health app or your device's privacy settings.
Subscriptions & billing
Tenday Premium purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see or store your payment details.
To manage subscription entitlements, Tenday uses RevenueCat, a third-party subscription management service acting as a sub-processor. RevenueCat may receive purchase and transaction information (such as the product purchased and anonymized purchase identifiers) needed to verify and manage your Premium access. RevenueCat does not receive your habit data or your Health data.
Notifications
Habit reminders are scheduled as local notifications directly on your device. There is no push-notification server involved, and no notification content ever leaves your device.
Home Screen widgets
Tenday's Home Screen widgets read the same on-device, iCloud-synced data to display your habits and heatmap. This information stays within Apple's App Group container on your device and is not transmitted anywhere.
Children's privacy
Tenday is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because Tenday has no accounts and collects no personal data on its own servers, there is no account information for us to remove.
We do not sell your data
Tenday does not sell your data — full stop. We also do not share your habit data or Health data with advertisers or other third parties.
Your data & your control
Because there is no account, you stay in control of your data directly. Deleting the Tenday app removes the data stored locally on that device. Data synced through iCloud is managed by you in your own iCloud settings, where you can review or delete it.
Since Tenday never had access to your data in the first place, we cannot remotely retrieve or delete it on your behalf.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page, and for material changes we may also provide an in-app notice.
